Hi all! Hope you’re all staying warm with the weather we’ve been having lately. Since practicing my photography is a goal of mine for 2018, I was looking for a way to take pictures of interesting things while staying warm. That’s when the idea hit me: wander the skyways in downtown Minneapolis.
So I went on an adventure through the skyway system in downtown Minneapolis, taking photos as I went along. A couple of the shots were outside, but for the most part I stayed within the skyways while taking photos.
Here are some of my favorite shots:
I love shooting skyscrapers, especially during the day. There’s just so much texture and color to capture. Plus every different angle is unique and interesting!

I love the coloring of the sunlight on this one
I really love capturing the contrast of old and new buildings downtown.
Even parking signs can be interesting!

And a final bonus shot. The Super Bowl is coming to Minneapolis this year. In preparation of that, some of the skyways now have giant sticker-like banners up, which don’t allow you to see out the windows. Since I couldn’t take photos out of those windows, I figured I’d take a photo of the banner instead.
I feel like this barely scratched the surface of photo possibilities in the skyways. A goal of mine for 2018 is to try to bring my camera with me more often. Hopefully next time I’m wandering the skyways I’ll have my camera to get even more shots. Read about my photography goals and more highlights from 2017.
